Weekly Photo Challenge – Pattern

Patterns in the sand, left by the ebbing tide.

The sea leaves patterns like this in the sand all the time, but just for the record, this was taken in February 2006 on the beach at Longniddry, East Lothian, Scotland, on a visit to see my ‘bookend’ friend.

Longniddry is on the East coast near Edinburgh, but on the same trip, accompanied by my beloved Harry, I also visited an internet friend in Glasgow, then continued up the West coast as far as Malaig.

It was my first visit to Scotland and I fell in love with the country, the pic below may give some indication why.

South of Malaig on the coast road.

Yes, this was February 🙂

  1. The patterns in the sand looks like a tiny world of dunes and treasures 🙂

  2. lovely patterns in that sand, and as small as they are, they are able to reflect the light and cast shadows, just like their larger counterparts. and Scotland looks lovely. 🙂 thanks for sharing.

  3. Nice one for pattern – and who could not love Scotland. One of the first places I thought of dropping out to (some 30 years ago!)
