2012, What a year!!

I retired at the end of December 2011, so January 2012 was the start of a new way of life πŸ™‚

Doing what I (I should say we, as T was already retired) wanted to do, when I wanted to do it.

I haven’t worn a watch, or set an alarm clock for a whole year, this freedom from a routine and regimented way of life is priceless!

For many years I had dreamed of owning a motorhome, this dream materialised in March 2012, and despite the UK’s wettest year on record, we managed several holidays away, dodging the raindrops downpours and floods.

The following twelve photographs, one from each month, are just a few of the hundreds I’ve taken during my ‘Time Rich’ year. Some are from holidays, others just local days out, but for me they sum up my new found freedom.

  1. Beautiful selection Vicky. I see both you and p&k have achieved grey with your annual pictorial summary. I shall have to beat you both πŸ˜€ I will get right on with it.

Fave pix on there? J&LS of course, West Runton, and the last one is gorgeous.

  2. What a great selection of pictures, Vicky! They’re all awesome, but July’s clouds … I love those πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Reb.
The whole holiday at West Runton (July pic) was wonderful, with some amazing skies…..a photographers dream πŸ™‚

  3. i so agree with roughseas. even about the grey, LOL. hard to pick a fave, but your two pups look so happy and content in that image. and that last one – at the risk of echoing roughseas, it is beautiful. thanks for sharing your enjoyable first year of retirement.
a few of my co-workers retired at the end of December. how nice for them. am not quite there yet, but it’s something to look forward to – although i am not wishing my life away until then! enjoying each day as it comes.
although the thought of no alarm clock does sound very appealing. wishing you a wonderful 2013 full of adventure & unexpected blessings! cheeers! πŸ™‚

    • LOL, I had to laugh when I saw you’d managed grey too. I see roughseas managed a lovely shade of green.
Yes, I can certainly recommend retirement, I have to admit to counting down the days though.
For me, the freedom is the most precious thing, but silly little things, like the lack of an alarm clock, still make me smile. πŸ™‚

  4. Aaha, I didnt realise you had another blog. I am now following. I’m with RoughSeas, all the photos are wonderful but the April J&S is my favourite. What a wonderful year πŸ™‚

    • Thank you ED for following πŸ™‚ and for you kind comments πŸ™‚
It hasn’t been up long, I was fascinated by the ‘duotone’ theme, but didn’t want to change the theme on VicsPics. I use this one mostly for the Weekly Photo Challenge.
